How to Display Interest Rate in Shopify Order Record?

The maturity difference does not appear in the Shopify order record. Automatically display this difference in the admin panel with iyzico Admin.

For stores selling in installments on Shopify, iyzico does not automatically reflect the interest rate difference in the order record; the order total only shows the product price. iyzico Adminis a free application developed by iyzico that automatically adds this difference to the order details in the Shopify Admin panel. As Nodus Works, we have frequently observed that this discrepancy complicates accounting reconciliation for brands that rely heavily on installment sales when setting up payment integrations in Shopify stores.

How to Display the Interest Rate Difference in Shopify Order Records?

The way to display the interest rate difference in a Shopify order record is to install the iyzico Admin application; the app automatically adds the interest rate difference incurred in installment payments to the order details in the Shopify Admin panel.

The application writes the interest rate difference amount, which it reads from the iyzico payment result, directly into the order's metafield. This data is background/accounting datathat the store owner sees when opening the relevant order in the Shopify Admin panel; it is not automatically shown to the customer in the order confirmation email or on their account page. Stores that wish to make this visible to the customer must add this metafield to their theme or email template separately; this is not an action performed by the application itself.

Critical Note: iyzico Admin only works for installment transactions made through the iyzico payment infrastructure. PayTR, or other virtual POS providers like Param, cannot be read by this application for interest rate difference data.

The application is based in Turkey, the interface is in Turkish, and developer support is provided via docs.iyzico.com. It is free and does not require any additional payment or subscription.

Why Doesn't the Interest Rate Difference Automatically Reflect in the Order Total?

Because the interest rate difference is an amount calculated by the payment provider (iyzico) rather than Shopify's order engine, it does not match the order total. The installment selection and the associated interest rate difference are determined within iyzico's own interface during the payment step; this information is not passed back to Shopify by default.

In practice, this difference becomes a problem in two areas: month-end accounting reconciliation (where bank statements and order reports are compared manually) and partial refund calculations (where it is impossible to determine from the order record whether the refund amount should include the interest rate difference).

Status / Process Without iyzico Admin With iyzico Admin
Order Amount Only the product price is displayed. Product price + installment surcharge (displayed in the Metafield).
Accounting Reconciliation Requires manual comparison with the bank statement. Can be read directly from the order record, making reconciliation easier.
Refund Calculation The iyzico panel must also be checked separately. The installment surcharge is visible on the order; refund processes can be clearly tracked through Shopify.

Interest Difference Calculation Example: The Gap Between Order Amount and Collection

The Interest difference increases as the number of installments grows, causing the gap between the order amount and the actual collection to widen accordingly. For a 1,000₺ product, if 6 installments are selected, the amount collected from the customer may range between 1,050₺ and 1,090₺ depending on the bank's maturity difference rate; however, the order record in Shopify will still show 1,000₺.

Number of Installments Shopify Order Amount Estimated Amount Charged (Including Installment Surcharge) Difference Not Visible in the Order Record
Single Payment 1,000 ₺ 1,000 ₺ 0 ₺
3 Installments 1,000 ₺ ~1,030 ₺ ~30 ₺
6 Installments 1,000 ₺ ~1,070 ₺ ~70 ₺
12 Installments 1,000 ₺ ~1,130 ₺ ~130 ₺
Tip: The rates in this table vary based on the bank and iyzico's current commission structure; check the exact Interest difference rate in your iyzico Merchant Panel installment settings. The key point is not the rate itself, but the fact that the gap between the order record and the actual collection grows as the number of installments increases.

In a store with 200 installment orders per month, assuming half of these orders are processed in 6 installments, a discrepancy of approximately 7,000₺ accumulates between the order records and the amount deposited into the bank account for this group alone. While these differences may seem small individually, they become a collective item at the end of the month that the accounting team must manually reconcile.

Manual Reconciliation vs. iyzico Admin Comparison

Before installing iyzico Admin, Interest difference reconciliation requires the store team to manually compare bank statements with order reports; once the app is installed, this difference appears directly in the order record, eliminating the need for manual comparison.

Process Manual Reconciliation With iyzico Admin
Source of Installment Surcharge Manually identified from the bank statement. Automatically displayed in the order Metafield.
Month-End Reconciliation Time Can take several hours depending on order volume. Can be read directly and quickly from the order report.
Refund Amount Calculation The iyzico panel must also be checked separately. The installment surcharge is already visible on the order.
Risk of Error High; manual comparison carries a risk of overlooking discrepancies. Low; since the data is entered automatically, the risk of error is minimized.
