Volta Motor: Migrating from Ideasoft to Shopify with SAP Integration

Volta Motor is a powersports brand offering electric and petrol motorcycles, scooters, bicycles and ATVs. It wanted to move its store from Ideasoft to Shopify and manage product, stock, price and order data together with the company's SAP system.

01 — THE START

From Ideasoft to Shopify, with SAP kept in the loop

Volta Motor has a wide range, from electric and petrol motorcycles to scooters, bicycles and ATVs. Each model's specifications, colour options and price shape the buying decision, so this information had to be complete and up to date on the site.

The brand was running on Ideasoft and managing its operations with the company's SAP system. While moving the store to Shopify, we transferred products, categories and content to the new structure and built the storefront on a new Shopify theme that matches the brand. Keeping sales running on the existing store throughout the move and protecting search visibility were also among our priorities.

The second part of the migration was the SAP integration. We connected the Shopify store to SAP so stock, price and order data flows between the two systems without manual transfers. When a price or stock level changes, the site updates itself, and online orders are processed directly in SAP.

A sales-ready store in step with the corporate ERP

Today, Volta Motor presents its range in a modern, fast Shopify storefront. The motorcycle, scooter, bicycle and ATV categories are organised so customers can reach the model they want quickly. Each model's specifications, colour options and price are presented clearly on the product page, so customers can compare models directly on the site.

Thanks to the SAP connection, the team manages prices and stock in one place, and the burden of entering the same data in both SAP and the store is gone. Online orders landing directly in SAP have also sped up the post-order process. It also means price changes during campaigns take effect on both sides at the same time.

The Volta project shows that brands using a corporate ERP do not have to give up their systems when moving to Shopify. We apply the same sync approach to ERPs such as Logo, Odoo, DIA and Uyumsoft.
