Shopify Consulting Services

Shopify consulting starts by measuring where your store stands today: technical setup, SEO, user experience and page speed are audited in a single report. What comes out is not guesswork but the result of an inspection; every finding is written down with the place it was observed. That picture is then turned into a roadmap: which work happens in which order, which integration and which app is genuinely needed, and which team will carry it out.

Our difference sits in two places. First, matchmaking: if your need calls for a specialist outside our scope, we point you to the right person without taking a commission — the moment we take one, the advice starts serving the commission instead of your need. Second, field experience: we have worked on Shopify only for six years, published more than 15 apps and one integration platform, and seen the operations of 500+ projects and 200+ active brands. There is real work behind everything we recommend.

Our Shopify Consulting Services

Consulting is not a list of services; it is the decision about which work happens in which order. The six areas below are the work we run to produce that decision — which of them you actually need is something we figure out together in the first call.

Store Audit

Technical setup, SEO, user experience and speed are audited in one report. Findings like a shut-down analytics service still loading on the page, two separate apps doing the same job, or a size showing “in stock” while its quantity is zero come out here. Every item is marked by impact and effort, so the report becomes a work plan rather than a list.

Growth Strategy and Roadmap

Findings are arranged into a 3, 6 and 12-month plan. This is a work order, not a delivery schedule: the stages do not wait for each other, and each one can go live on its own. So a single delayed item does not stop the whole plan and the first results do not slip by months.

Platform and Tooling Choices

We decide which integration, which app and which Shopify plan is genuinely required. The principle we work by is single: every piece of data has one source of truth, and other systems use that data without changing it. Because no system replaces another, the app stack shrinks on its own.

Matching You With the Right Expert

If your need sits outside our scope, we point you to the right person, from theme developers to performance marketers, from ERP consultants to content teams. We take no commission from any expert, agency or software vendor we refer. This is our real difference: the advice follows what you need, not what we could sell.

Marketing, Content and Social Alignment

Ads, SEO, content and social are tied to the same roadmap so the disciplines do not look good separately while cancelling each other out. Measurement is managed from one place: conversion data lost because server-side tracking was never set up is one of the most common gaps we find in audits.

Enterprise and Plus Scale Consulting

In high-volume stores the subject stops being one website and becomes whether the channels see each other: multi-market structure, a single stock pool, ship-from-store, one customer view, split shipments and split returns. We work out which of these you genuinely need and in what order they should be built.

Our Process

Our Consulting Process

The first step is to clarify your goals and correctly identify the problems the brand is facing. We plan from the very beginning what kind of solution will genuinely work. Throughout the process the thing that matters most to us is being clear and transparent at every stage: who does what is written down up front.

01

Discovery Call and Current-State Analysis

We clarify your goals and identify the problems the brand is facing. This call is not us reading you a service list; it is us finding the question you actually need answered. Store size, product count, how many channels you sell through and your current team structure define the scope of the audit.

02

Technical, SEO and UX Audit

Theme code, app conflicts, data structure, indexing, structured data, collection and checkout flows and mobile speed are each measured. The resulting picture is not guesswork but the result of an inspection; every finding is written down with the place it was observed.

03

Priorities and Roadmap

Findings are ordered by impact and effort and turned into a 3, 6 and 12-month work order. Each stage can go live on its own; because the stages do not wait for each other, the first gain does not wait for the last item.

04

Expert and Team Matching

If needed. For every item on the roadmap we write down whose hands it runs in: our team, your team, or an independent expert we refer. We take no commission for referrals, so the list follows what the work requires rather than who we happen to know.

05

Implementation Follow-Up

While the work runs, the outcome is checked: were redirects created for changed pages, is measurement sending correct data, do stock and price come from a single source. In critical flows, a failing step is expected to keep the record instead of losing it and to raise an alert.

06

Monthly Review

Every month the same metrics are compared with the same tools and the roadmap is updated against what actually happened. High-priority clients reach us directly by phone and WhatsApp; we do not put process in the way at critical moments.

WHO IT IS FOR

Who Is Consulting Right For?

Consulting is not only for large stores. If you are in one of the six situations below, your first move is not writing code or raising ad budget; it is measuring which work is genuinely needed.

New to Shopify

In new stores most mistakes come from the structure built in the first three months: the wrong theme, a pile of unnecessary apps, a collection and URL structure set up broken from the start. Fixing those later costs more than building them right at the beginning.

Existing Store Owners

The site works, sales are coming in, but growth has stalled. In this picture the problem is usually not the site itself but the uncertainty about where to invest next. An audit turns that uncertainty into a measurable, ordered list.

Planning a Platform Migration

What needs discussing before the migration decision: how much of the data can move, how the URL structure and organic traffic will be protected, which integrations are required. Data is never moved in one go; it is first tested on a small group, record counts are compared, and only when the difference is zero is everything transferred.

Enterprise and Plus Scale Brands

With several countries, a retail chain and an ERP already in place, the subject stops being a single website. The order in which the multi-market structure, the single stock pool and the single customer view get built is a decision of its own; get the order wrong and the work is done twice.

Multi-Channel and Marketplace Sellers

When channels cannot see each other, the same stock gets reserved twice, a customer switching channel is created as a new record, and revenue per customer stays stuck per channel. That is why deciding where each piece of data has its source of truth is the first problem to solve.

Working With an Agency Without Results

The audit is done independently, priorities are ordered against your goals, and your current team's reporting is compared with that picture. Our role is not to do your agency's job but to measure whether the work being done serves the right work.

The Distinction

Where Consulting Differs From Technical Support

A good share of incoming requests treat these two as the same thing. In short: if your question is “what should I do”, consulting is the right start; if it is “who will do this”, technical support is.

Comparison Consulting Technical support and maintenance
Question it answers What should I do, and in which order? Who will do this, and when will it be fixed?
Output Audit report, prioritised list of findings, 3-6-12 month roadmap A working store: fixed theme, cleaned-up app stack, closed bugs
Way of working Discovery call, audit, measurement, monthly review Request queue, intervention, regular maintenance and monitoring
Who carries it out The decision comes from us; delivery may sit with your team or an expert we refer The work runs directly in the support team
When it is the right choice When it is not clear where to invest When there are concrete faults and an ongoing maintenance need

The two are not alternatives. In most brands the right setup is this: the roadmap comes out of consulting, while delivery and continuity run on the Shopify technical support and maintenance side. Who does what is put in writing in the first call.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Shopify consulting service cover?
It has three parts. First, the audit: your store's technical setup, SEO status, user experience and page speed are measured in a single report. Second, strategy: findings are ordered by impact and effort and turned into a 3, 6 and 12-month roadmap. Third, direction: we decide which integration, which app and which team is genuinely required, and if the needed expert is not on our side we refer you without taking a commission. Consulting is not writing code or running ads; it is the decision about which work happens in which order.
Should I get consulting or technical support?
If your question is “what should I do”, consulting; if it is “who will do this”, technical support. Consulting produces decisions: an audit report, a priority list, a roadmap. Technical support applies the decision and keeps the store standing: theme fixes, app conflicts, bug fixing, regular maintenance. If your store works but you do not know where to invest, choose consulting; if there are concrete faults and a continuous maintenance need, Shopify technical support and maintenance is the right start. Some brands take both: the roadmap comes out of consulting and delivery runs on the support side.
How long does the consulting process take?
The audit and roadmap part typically takes 1-2 weeks; store size, product count and how many channels you sell through set that duration. What follows is not a schedule but a rhythm: implementation follow-up and monthly review continue for as long as we work together. Our standard package that combines setup and consulting is completed in a maximum of 30 business days. Asking only for a one-off audit report and then continuing with your own team is also possible.
How does pricing work, and is there a commission?
Consulting is priced by scope: do you want only the audit and report, or is the roadmap and monthly review included as well? Scope is settled in the first call and the proposal is given in writing. In our standard proposals invoicing happens in two stages: half of the fee at the start, the remaining half when the work is completed. Third-party costs such as the domain, app licences and Shopify subscription fees are outside the proposal and are purchased in your name. We take no commission from any expert, agency or software vendor we refer; this is a deliberate decision, because the moment we take a commission the advice starts serving the commission instead of your need.
Can a small or brand-new store get consulting too?
Yes, and this is usually where it pays off most. In new stores most mistakes come from the structure built in the first three months: the wrong theme, a pile of unnecessary apps, a collection and URL structure set up broken from the start. Fixing those later costs more than building them right at the beginning. For new brands the scope is kept smaller as well; you do not carry the same audit load as a large store.
What should I look for when choosing a consultant?
Look at four things. First, the field record: are there case studies published with real brand names? Second, independence: does the consultant take a commission from the app or agency they recommend, and do they say so openly? Third, concreteness of the output: what exactly is delivered under the heading of strategy, a report or a dated roadmap? Fourth, measurement: is it written down up front which metric will be tracked and with which tool? On our side the answer is this: six years on Shopify only, a 5.0 Shopify Partner rating with more than 210 verified reviews, and case studies published with real brand names.
Can I get consulting in parallel while working with my current agency?
You can; a good share of consulting requests arrive exactly this way. In that setup our role is not to do your agency's job but to measure whether the work being done serves the right work: the audit is independent, priorities are ordered against your brand's goals, and your agency's reporting is compared with that picture. If you want us to work with your agency directly, a joint working arrangement on technical topics can also be set up, and in that arrangement who does what is put in writing up front.
What is in the audit report?
The report has four sections: technical setup (theme code, app conflicts, data structure), SEO (indexing, title and description structure, structured data, internal linking), user experience (collection and product page flow, cart and checkout steps, mobile usage) and speed (mobile and desktop measurements, which resource is slowing things down). Findings are written concretely: a shut-down analytics service still loading on the page, two separate apps doing the same job, a size showing in stock while its quantity is zero, a language alternate URL that does not work. Every item is marked by impact and effort, so the report becomes a work plan rather than a list.
Can I get consulting before moving to Shopify?
Yes, and taking it before you make the migration decision is the best moment. What gets discussed at this stage: how much of the data on your current platform can move, how the URL structure and organic traffic will be protected, which Shopify plan fits you, which integrations are required and the realistic work order of the migration. Data is never moved in one go; it is first tested on a small group, record counts are compared, and only when the difference is zero is everything transferred. If you have already decided to migrate, you can also look at our migration to Shopify process.
Do you also handle the implementation after the consulting?
We can, but it is not required. Once the roadmap exists there are three paths: our team delivers it, your team delivers it and we follow up, or an independent expert we refer delivers it. Measurement and the monthly review stay the same in all three. We do not run consulting as a doorway to selling our own services; there are cases where the report says you do not need to do this work right now.
