A furniture brand in five markets, with product data in many places
Lazzoni designs and makes home furniture, from modular sofas to made-to-measure closets. lazzoni.com runs on Shopify Plus and sells to the US, Canada, the UK, Spain and Turkey. Most products split into dozens of variants by fabric, leather, module and finish; a single modular sofa can have 90 variants.
Information about these products was spread across different systems. Prices and stock codes lived in the company's ERP, while quotes were handled in OFL, the quoting system used in the showrooms. The product cards on Shopify were connected to neither, so keeping variants, SKUs and prices on the website in line with the ERP was a separate workload.
We started by studying OFL's database in read-only mode, without touching a single record, and mapped which table held which information. In our meetings with the Lazzoni team the direction became clear: OFL would be retired, product and price data would flow straight from the ERP to Shopify, and quotes and sales would gradually move to Shopify as well. The first step was the US store and its dollar prices.
