Step 1: Install the App
- In the Shopify admin panel, go to Apps → App Store.
- Type 'Domestic Shipping' in the search box.
- Find the official Domestic Shipping app and click on the 'Add app' button.
- Confirm the necessary permissions (read orders, write consignment permissions).

- On the Domestic Shipping app settings screen, go to the 'API Settings' section.
- Enter your customer number (received through the corporate portal) in the corresponding field.

- Click on the 'Add rate' button under the 'Turkey' area.
- Select Domestic Cargo as the carrier.

Step 4: Test and Bring It to Life
- Create a test order with Shopify admin → Orders → Create order.
- Use a real Turkey address (sandbox addresses may not produce tags).
- Click the 'Create shipping label' button on the Fulfillment screen.
- The integration is successful if the label opens as PDF and the number is running in the Domestic tracking system.
- Verify if the customer notification email contains the tracking number.
Cargo Pricing and Optimization
With Domestic Shipping, when the pricing configuration in Shopify is set up correctly, you can both control your shipping costs and increase the customer cart amount. Approximately 68% of stores in Turkey use the “free shipping over a certain amount” model.
When setting the free shipping threshold, base your average cart amount and set the threshold above 15-20%. For example, if your average basket amount is 350 TL, set the threshold to 400—420 TL. This strategy encourages customers to add additional products to fill the cart.
Consider the desi (volumetric weight) account for stores selling heavy or bulky items. Domestic Cargo calculates the equivalent of 1 desi = 1 kg; however, volumetric weight that is greater than the actual weight is billed. Solution: Check if the province and county information at the order address matches its counterpart in the Domestic's system. Especially in small settlements, Shopify's address format and Domestic's area code system may not match. In this case, you can do manual mapping using the 'Default branch code' field.
Error: Tracking number does not work even though it has passed 24 hours
Solution: After the domestic shipping label is created, the tracking system will not be updated until the physical package is delivered to the Domestic branch. Within 2—4 hours after delivering the package, the tracking number becomes active.
